California HSR- San Francisco to San Jose

Effective July 23, 2019, this project is assigned to the California High Speed Rail Authority to complete the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process on behalf of FRA, pursuant to the Surface Transportation Project Delivery Program (STPD Program), 23 USC 327.

Environmental Impact Statement

The preparation of the Tier 2 / project-level San Francisco–San Jose High-Speed Rail (HSR) Project EIR/EIS will involve development of preliminary engineering designs and assessment of environmental effects associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of the HSR system, including track, ancillary facilities and stations, along the previously selected San Francisco– San Jose corridor.  Previous FRA decisions were made about this section of the HSR system with the Bay Area to Central Valley Program EIR/EIS.
