ABSTRACT: PTC implementation is a top priority of the Department and FRA. Railroads’ successful implementation of PTC systems is an important safety initiative for FRA. It is also an important innovation for the future of rail transportation. Given the complexity of these systems, it is imperative that railroads, suppliers, and governing bodies prioritize and focus their attention on meeting this year’s Congressional deadline.
