Abstract/Summary
The letter responds to RSI's request for extension of time to comply with the Railworthiness Directive (RWD) issued by FRA on March 13, 2015. The original RWD established timelines for the inspection and removal of certain valves produced by McKenzie Valve & Machining (McKenzie) and applied to tank cars. In this letter, FRA provides alternate conditions, limitations, and timelines to those provided in the original RWD for particular scenarios; and, sets forth additional requirements necessary to utilize the alternative compliance schedule.
