Aerodynamics of High Speed Ground Transportation Research and Development
The aerodynamic problems of high speed ground transportation systems have been examined for both conventional rail and other high speed systems. An aerodyhamic research and development program has been developed to provide the required information.Advanced Component Testing: Kaskasia Handbrake Test.
The evaluation of a prototype remote operation handbrake showed that it can be installed on a car with only minor modifications to connect the air. This prototype did not set the emergency during any of the testing performed. The operation of the prototype worked as specified by the manufacturer.LNG Safety Assessment Evaluation Methods
Sandia National Laboratories evaluated published safety assessment methods across a variety of industries including Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), hydrogen, land and marine transportation, as well as the US Department of Defense (DOD). All the methods were evaluated for their potential applicability...Engineering Design for Pedestrian Safety at Highway-Rail Grade Crossings.
A number of pedestrian treatments at railroad grade crossings have been developed and are used throughout the United States. The decision of when to use these treatments is generally a matter of best practices, using a decision tree, or conducting a site assessment. There has been little...
