FRA Rail Program Delivery Webinar Series: Grants & Loans
Railroad Capital Project Guidance Webinar
Wednesday, July 13, 2022
1:00 – 2:00 PM ET
Join FRA to better understand the recently published Guidance on Development and Implementation of Railroad Capital Projects. The aim of this guidance is to facilitate the effective management of the historic investment in rail under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. FRA has a time-sensitive need to establish clear practices and procedures for the development and implementation of railroad capital projects through the issuance of agency guidance.
The upcoming webinar will provide FRA an opportunity to walk through the guidance and for attendees to ask questions. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance of the webinar and can do so during the webinar registration process.
After the public comment period, final guidance will be issued to assist project sponsors in developing effective and complete capital projects and to enhance the management of capital projects to meet schedules and budgets. While FRA will provide a high-level overview of the Guidance on Development and Implementation of Railroad Capital Projects during the webinar, interested parties are encouraged to read through the document prior to the webinar.
Any comments on the guidance, before or after the webinar, should be submitted to FRA docket FRA-2022-0035 at www.regulations.gov so that they will be entered into the public record.
Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant Program Notice of Funding Opportunity Webinar
Thursday, July 14, 2022
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM ET
Join the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to learn about the new Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) Grant Program established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and its notice of funding opportunity (NOFO).
The RCE Grant Program makes available $573,264,000 in funding for highway-rail and pathway-rail grade crossing improvement projects that focus on improving the safety and mobility of people and goods. The RCE Program will benefit infrastructure throughout the country, including in tribal and rural communities, and in U.S. territories and possessions.
FRA staff will provide an overview of the RCE Grant Program starting with the goal of the program, availability of funding, eligibility, how to apply, and what documents to submit. Environmental and Corridor Planning staff will cover the basics of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and its role in federally funded transportation projects. The Grants Management Division will cover best practices for grant award and post-award management. A question-and-answer segment will follow the presentation.
This webinar will be useful to agency staff, project sponsors and their consultants, and discretionary grant applicants. It will help those new to NOFOs and anyone seeking a refresher or the latest guidance on applying for federal grants for rail projects.
