The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) released the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) for the Washington Union Station Expansion Project (the Project) for public review and comment on May 12, 2023.
FRA is coordinating compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act. A Draft Programmatic Agreement (PA) that FRA is proposing to execute to resolve the known adverse effects of the Project on historic properties is included in the SDEIS as Appendix D2. A Draft Section 4(f) Evaluation is presented in Chapter 6 of the SDEIS.
