Public Meeting #4: Thursday, March 22, 2018
FRA hosted the Washington Union Station Expansion Project’s fourth Public Meeting on March 22, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Washington Union Station’s Presidential Room located in the East Hall. An informal open house format was conducted between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, at which representatives were available for discussion of the project and to answer questions. Formal presentations were also given at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
This meeting was an opportunity for the public to review and provide feedback on the alternatives that will be advanced for further study in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) being prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). FRA shared information on program elements, including rail, bus, vehicle transportation, pedestrian, and bicycle planning. The comment period for this meeting ends on April 19, 2018. Comments received during this period will be added to the public meeting comments and summarized.
